Strength Training
Matters for Cheerleaders
Cheer practice teaches the skill.
Strength training builds the athlete who performs it.
Cheerleading demands more than flexibility and repetition. Every jump, stunt, tumble, and routine requires strength, power, control, and endurance. CheerFITT helps athletes develop the physical foundation needed to perform stronger, safer, and more confidently.
My Cheerleader Already Practices…
Why Add More?
Cheer athletes already have demanding schedules with school, practices, competitions, and travel. Strength training is not another activity competing for time — it is the foundation that supports everything they are already working toward.
Skills training teaches athletes how to perform skills. Strength training helps them build the ability to perform those skills with more consistency, power, and control.
Skills Need a Strong Foundation
Every cheer athlete relies on physical qualities that go beyond learning a skill:
✔ Strength for stunts and body control
✔ Power for jumps and explosive movement
✔ Stability for safer landings and positions
✔ Endurance for performing under fatigue
The goal is not to "bulk up" — it is to build stronger, more resilient athletes.
THE VOICE
BEHIND THE METHOD
Sean Powers has spent over 20 years in the cheerleading and fitness world as a coach, trainer, mentor, and event professional. As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, former competitive cheer coach, and longtime member of the cheer community, Sean has worked with athletes of all ages and skill levels. Through his own experience as an athlete and coach, he saw firsthand that the biggest improvements often came when athletes focused on developing their strength, power, and physical foundation outside of skill practice. That realization became the foundation of CheerFITT — helping athletes build the strength and confidence needed to perform their skills safely, consistently, and at a higher level.
TRAIN THE strength BEHIND THE STUNT.
Your athlete is already putting in the work. CheerFITT helps them build the strength, control, and confidence needed to make those skills stronger.
